Radu Albot started well at the Grand Slam tournament Roland Garros. The 30-year-old player beat 6-2, 6-4, 6-1 Australia’s Jordan Thompson, world No. 53, after a game that lasted for 2 hours and 8 minutes, IPN reports.
In the second round, Radu Albot meets the United States’ Taylor Fritz, who takes the 29th spot in the ATP rankings. The two dueled only once earlier, in the semifinals of the Los Cabos Open in Mexico. Fritz won then by 6-3, 6-2.
Radu Albot is currently world No. 79.
