Radu Albot was eliminated from the singles competition of the first Grand Slam tournament of the year, Australian Open, IPN reports.
In the inaugural round, the Moldovan tennis player was beaten by Hungary’s Marton Fucsovics, World No. 80. Albot lost the first two sets 2-6, 3-6, but won the third set 6-4. However, Fucsovics won the fourth set 7-5 and qualified for the next round.
Albot will also compete in the doubles. He and South Korean athlete Hyeon Chung will play against the pair Jonathan Erlich - Daniel Nestor.
