Radu Albot has qualified for the finals of the Challenger Tournament of Geneva. In the semifinals, Moldova’s best tennis player beat Maxime Tchoutakian of France, IPN reports.
Albot lost the first set by 4-6 and was led by 0-4 in the second set. But he recovered spectacularly and won on a tiebreak even if he hit the racket against the ground for several times. In the decisive set, Albot was much calmer and won against Tchoutakian by 6-1.
The prize money of the Geneva tournament is €64,000. Of this sum, the winner will receive €9,200. In the first round of the finals, Radu Albot meets Croatia’s Mate Delic, who takes the 160th position in the ATP rankings.
