The qualifying competition for the eleventh Hancesti Mayor’s Motocross Cup will take place on October 14, while the race will be held the next day.

President of the motocross sports club “Enduro-Cross” Nicolae Cociu, co-organizer of the event, in a news conference at IPN said the athletes who will give the best performance in the qualifying competition will be allowed to choose the starting place in the October 15 championship. “It will be very interesting this Saturday, starting at 11am. The participants will do their best to earn qualification. It will be a time trial,” stated Nicolae Cociu.

About 40 athletes from Moldova announced their intention to take part in the race. As many will come from abroad, but registration is not yet over.

Nicolae Cociu said the motocross track in Hancesti town is the only one in the country that was accredited at international level for holding such competitions. “Someone thinks it is a simple show, but for me, as the organizer, it is an international contest for which I bear overall responsibility. The previous years, the participants were satisfied with the organization. That’s why the majority accepted the challenge again,” said the organizer of the competition.

Victor Golovichkin, president of the Motocross Federation of Moldova, noted that the competition expands and the number of persons who want to take part in it grows from one edition to another.

After a pause of three years, the international motocross competition Hancesti Mayor’s Cup will be held again. The race starts at 11am on October15, at the exit from Hancesti towards Leova. The competition will involve amateurs and professionals from over ten states. Almost 80 athletes have confirmed their participation so far. In the absence of financing, the event could not be staged in 2016 and 2015. The top prize of the competition is €700, the second prize is €500, while the third prize is €300. The race is almost 2 km long. The referees are from Kyiv.
