The National Unity Party (PUN) presented the list of 100 members of its initiative group who will collect signatures in support of candidate for President Octavian Țîcu to the Central Election Commission. The CEC has three days to register the group, IPN reports.

“I always did the things I started excellently (…) I don’t think a party with ambitions to take over governance will encounter difficulties in collecting 15,000 signatures,” Octavian Țîcu stated after submitting the documents.

According to the politician, the citizens of the Republic of Moldova want a safe, prosperous future and wellbeing that can be ensured only by a candidate with a coherent political platform in the interests of the Moldovans.

Octavian Țîcu noted that regardless of the epidemiological conditions, he will make effort to convince the people that the democratic exercise should be respected. The collection of signatures is a test for each candidate. “I, as a wrestler, am ready for any kind of confrontation. I have the political experience of a number of campaigns that preceded parliamentary and local elections. We will see how things stand at the local level,” he stated.

Octavian Țîcu is the eighth aspirant for the office of President who filed the required documents to the CEC.
