The National Unity Party (PUN) reaffirms that welfare comes only from the West and the reunion with Romania and affiliation with the EU bring benefits as regards the labor force market, level of pays and working conditions, by merger with the salary and social assistance system of Romania. By the union with Romania, the minimum salary will be raised to 10,000 Moldovan lei, the PUN said in a press release that is quoted by IPN.

According to the PUN, which is running in the July 11 snap parliamentary elections, the citizens of the Republic of Moldova have the right to the same salaries as those paid in Romania and in other EU member states. The minimum monthly pay in the Republic of Moldova is now two times lower than in Romania, while the average salary is three time lower than in Romania, where this represents about 23,000 Moldova lei.

The party says the pays in Republic of Moldova are similar to those in Belarus, Ukraine or Russia, while the Moldovans’ purchasing power is the lowest in the European states. “The current state of affairs is due to the failed policy of the Communists, the Socialists and the corrupt persons who built the own businesses by ignoring how the people live. We will reach the European salaries and working conditions only by the union,” said the PUN.

The members of the National Unity Party pledge that while in Parliament, they will struggle for all the people to have prosperous life, salaries and purchasing power similar to that in the European countries so that the people do not have to go abroad to work.

The PUN seeks the creation of a joint investment fund with Romania for small and medium-sized businesses. “The business community should be urgently helped by investments to recover after the pandemic. The development of the business community means active and strong economy and more jobs here, at home,” noted the PUN.
