Public Amenities Division’s priorities for 2021

The building of public sanitary facilities and sports grounds and laying out of playgrounds, fitness or workout grounds in Chisinau are the priorities of the Public Amenities Division for 2021. It is also planned to modernize elevators in apartment buildings and to close the waste tubes.

The head of the Division’s Cleanup and Territorial Development Section Vasile Efros provided IPN with the list of projects planned for 2021. Among them are the implementation of the municipal program for the free sterilization of pets, reconstitution of the amphitheater and the adjoining area in the Park “Valea Trandafirilor”, rehabilitation of the central park of Chisinau, of the square of the Metropolitan Cathedral and of the square situated on Nicolae Titulescu St, renovation of the green area located on Ciocârliei St, of the square situated on the public lot at 26/4 Mircea cel Bătrân St, of the panoramic square on Maria Drăgan St, within the second stage, and of the square on the public lot located at Sârbească St.

Public Amenities Division head Ion Burdiumov said there are no unfinished projects of those planned for last year. In the immediate period, the Division’s functionaries, together with the administration of the municipality, will analyze each point of the action plan for 2021 and will agree the implementation terms for each project.

Under the Chisinau Municipal Council’s decision, 289.5 million lei was allocated in 2021 for the housing sector and for territorial development projects. Of this amount, 88.3 million lei will be spent on maintaining and repairing the housing sector and on cleaning up the territory of the municipality of Chisinau. A sum of 42 million lei was earmarked for the sanitary maintenance of the common use places (manual cleanup of areas, cleaning of public transport stations, waste bins and household solid waste collection platforms). 96 million lei will be used to implement the municipal yards repair program, while 25 million lei will go to purchase and renovate elevators. 105.2 million lei was allocated for territorial development projects.
