The Party of Socialists (PSRM) disputed in the Constitutional Court the Parliament decision to examine the report of the commission of inquiry into the situation in the financial-banking sector and the stealing of money from banks behind closed doors, IPN reports.

According to the chairman of the PSRM Igor Dodon, the decision of the parliamentary majority to hold a closed-door sitting runs counter to the supreme law. “A number of articles of the Constitution clearly stipulate that the information of public interest cannot be hidden or made secret,” he stated. “The Government does not want the people to know the truth – who actually stole those billions. They do not want the people to know that those who govern the country had been involved in wrongdoings.”

The commission of inquiry’s report was presented in a closed-door sitting in Parliament on March 24. The sitting was boycotted by the Socialist faction, which presented an alternative report.
