Vadim Brânzaniuc, the candidate for mayor of Chisinau of the European Social Democratic Party (PSDE), assures that during the next four years, he will implement a broad urban regeneration plan to fully restore the housing sector in the capital city. In total, he promises to annually allocate by 1 billion lei from the municipal budget for the purpose, IPN reports.
In a news conference, Vadim Brînzaniuc said the urban rehabilitation plan envisions the modernization of facades and thermal insulation of all the blocks, rehabilitation of stairs and engineering networks, replacement of lifts, putting up of parking places and playgrounds and repairing of all the roads leading to yards of apartment buildings.
“In total, 1 billion lei will be allocated each year from the municipal budget for rehabilitating the housing sector. I assure you that I know how to obtain this money to solve this problem that I consider a major one,” said Vadim Brînzaniuc. He noted that to implement this program, he will use the experience accumulated while serving as adviser to the mayor of Sector 4 of the municipality of Bucharest.
The candidate also said that in parallel, he will initiate work out a new General Urban Development Plan that will envision the extension of the housing sector towards the suburbs. “I will also try to secure a broad consensus with real estate and building companies. We must offer them a normal working climate, clarity and the possibility of helping to develop Chisinau based on new rules that will advantage them but will no way affect the interests of citizens,” he stated.
As it was decided by draw, Vadim Brînzaniuc of the European Social Democratic Party will be next to No. 8 on the ballot.
