The Social Democratic Party (PSD) says that the recent departure of about 200 members from the party can be described as cleaning and purification of the party with minimal impact, Info-Prim Neo reports. In a communiqué, the party says that this act was planned by the former PSD secretary general Eduard Musuc, who aims to create the image of ‘snowball’ – the members leave the party at certain intervals of time, not simultaneously, in order to create the impression that the members leave the PSD continuously. The PSD says that Eduard Musuc takes a series of steps inspired by the ideological section of the Communist Party, with which Musuc cooperated in solving personal problems and continues to intensely cooperate in order to weaken the PSD by splitting the ranks and demoralizing the members of the zonal and local organizations. The party says that not more than 100 persons of the over 23,000 members announced they left the PSD, but a large part of these will return after they understand that Musuc plays a dirty game. Over 250 members of the PSD, including its secretary general Eduard Musuc, left the party during the last week. They said they do not support the proposal of the PSD president Dumitru Braghis to concede Transnistria to another state. The Social Democratic Party was headed by Eduard Musuc until December 2007, when it merged with the Social Democracy Party led by Dumitru Braghis.
