Specialists in the management of emergency situations from the Republic of Moldova and Romania are taking part in join disaster simulation exercises. The rescuers are performing intervention procedures for joint operations. The training forms part of the joint international exercise “PRUT-2023”, IPN reports, quoting the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations.
The table top exercise is conducted as part of the SMURD-2 Crossborder Project during June 26-27. The first stage of the TTX exercise was held at the Inspectorate on June 26. The forces of the responsible emergency services of Moldova and Romania simulated measures to alleviate the consequences of landslides with essential deterioration and destruction of buildings and industrial facilities and with fire. The representatives from Romania connected to the exercises online.
The second stage of the TTX exercise is held on June 27 in Romania, where an exercise is simulated to deal with a road accident with multiple victims which occurred in Romania. The online drill on behalf of Moldova involves the central public authorities responsible for the management of crossborder exceptional situations.
Field training exercises involving forces and equipment from both countries will be staged in Moldova and Romania during June 28-29.
