The Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR) mounted a protest in front of the Ministry of Health, demanding that Minister Ala Nemerenco should resign. AUR Moldova leader Vlad Biletski said that Ala Nemerenco should leave as she badly managed the COVID-19 pandemic, IPN reports.
The health sector employees get their salaries with delay. The members of families in which a health worker died from COVID-19 cannot receive the lump sum of 100,000 lei if the person wasn‘t vaccinated. This is discrimination, believes Vlad Biletski.
“Missis Nemerenco is probably the minister of health with the poorest performance in the health sector of the Republic of Moldova during the past 30 years. Too many mistakes are made, but they costs lives,” he stated.
Vlad Biletski reminded of statements made by the minister, which he considers discouraging, like “the chipping of children”. (Ala Nemerenco earlier said she does not see a problem in administering the COVID-19 vaccine to children, e.n.).
According to the AUR Moldova leader, protests against the COVID-19 restrictions are mounted in Bucharest and similar protests could be staged in Chisinau next spring. Vlad Biletski said he considers these restrictions are unfounded. He noted that protests in Chisinau could be also held on the gas issue and in support of teachers.
Adriana Galici, senior consultant of the press service of the Ministry of Health, has told IPN that the Ministry will come with a reaction to the AUR’s protest later.
