Members and sympathizers of the Party of Communists and Șor Party protested with cooking tools in central Chisinau, saying the government policies are antisocial. According to them, owing to poverty the people no longer have what to eat, IPN reports.

The protesters marched to the Parliament Building, the Presidential Palace and the Government Building, beating the saucepans with forks and spoons. They accused the government of urging the people to economize further instead of looking for solutions to help the population.

“Regrettably, we now live times when we speak only about poverty, lack of funds, the consumer basket that is almost inexistent, our fridges that we do not have what to open for. Things worsen daily. The crisis deepens, while the PAS government led by Maia Sandu does nothing. We see that they adopt only laws that suit someone’s interests and are not aimed at improving the quality of life of citizens,” said Șor Party MP Marina Tauber.

BCS MP Diana Caraman said the government serves foreign interests and works to the detriment of the Moldovan citizens, but they should obey the supreme law and should listen to the citizens who elected them and to whom they promised many things, but did nothing.

“We are sure than sooner or later this government will be removed. They do not have any interest in ensuring the people’s wellbeing. They adopt in Parliament all kind of stupid laws that have nothing to do with the people’s needs. They boast they raised pensions to 2,000 lei, but this pension will not help now that we have such a high inflation rate,” stated Șor Party MP Vadim Fotescu.

The protesters said the “good times” promised by PAS became unbearable and removing the government is the only solution the citizens have.
