Several dozen people Saturday came together before the Embassy of Russia in Chisinau, where they lit by a candle for the mental health of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The participants carried placards with the messages “Putin aggressor, long life Ukraine”, “Putin a liar and invader”, IPN reports.

The protesters gathered following a message to make common cause with Ukraine disseminated through social networking sites. Journalist Angela Arama said now that it became known that Russian invaded Ukraine, the Moldovan people should not remain indifference because the war in Ukraine affects us too. “That’s why we came to pray for the mental health of Putin and his colleagues because I don’t think that a healthy man cannot realize that such a conflict could degenerate into the third world war. It this happens, there will be no winners,” she stated.

Executive director of the Worms’ Political Club “50x50” Ecaterina Mardarovici noted that Vladimir Putin must stop the war he started because it is very dangerous. Society should sympathize with Ukraine and should not forget that the 14th army is present on Moldova’s territory, which is a threat. “I protest against Russia’s invasion in Ukraine,” she said.

Another participant Ana Bologan, who is the mother of five boys, said she makes common cause with the mothers from Ukraine whose children are mercilessly killed by the Russians.

Mihai Turcanu said he backs the territorial integrity of Ukraine and condemns the Russian military intervention, the sponsoring of terrorists and Vladimir Putin’s policy. “We must support Ukraine in these moments. The entire Europe and international civilized community must make common cause with it,”
stated the participant.

Fighting between pro-Russian separatist insurgents and Ukrainian soldiers has taken place in Ukraine for several months. Earlier this week, Ukraine announced that Russia introduced a military contingent in Ukraine.
