The General Prosecutor’s Office (GPO) refutes the statements of Moldova Noastra Alliance that the police would have fabricated the evidence in the case of preparing the alleged murder of the Parliament’s deputy president Iurie Rosca, the leader of the People’s Christian Democratic Party. The GPO says that AMN’s declarations are meant to coerce the law enforcement bodies, Info-Prim Neo reports. The GPO’s press service informs on Wednesday, January 21, that the Prosecutor’s Office checked the declarations made by AMN, according to which the police would have placed objects incriminating evidence in the entertainment Center “Novas” in Sangera in order to encourage the penal proceedings upon this case. The video images shot by the supervising camera of the restaurant show that two persons, who were further identified as employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), through which AMN has set the assumption, that they placed the objects traced out during the search, and this fact was organized by purpose in order to compromise some people. “After checking this information through penal procedures, it was ascertained that the police stayed periodically in this place from November 25 to December 29, 2008, while they were at work, performing investigation actions upon a case of blackmailing, committed nearby the entertainment Center “Novas.” The witnesses confirmed that they had been questioned about that case by the policemen during the same period. “The named policemen have nothing to do with the investigations of the case of preparing the murder of Iurie Rosca,” reads a press release by GPO. The prosecutors say that the video images presented by AMN do not prove the fact that one of the policemen placed the envelope with narcotic substances on a wall of the bar. The GPO specifies that the probes of preparing the murder (a pistol, topographic maps, photo images of Iurie Rosca’s car) have been tracked down in a completely different place. “AMN’s statements are meant to give another connotation to the case on the murder of Iurie Rosca, through which the law enforcement bodies are coerced in investigating the case and this misleads the public opinion,” reads the release. The Interior Ministry also refutes AMN's allegations. “The MIA categorically rejects the accusations brought about by Urecheanu and Plesca, they are totally groundless and it qualifies them as pressure and as direct involvement into the probe on the attempt to murder Iurie Rosca,” the Organized Crime Fighting Squad's chief Alexandru Panzari told a news conference. On the other hand, AMN issues a press release say it has “new data confirming the fabrication of this case.” AMN says the prosecutors and the police “have confirmed that police officers did visit the locale in Sangera for several days and then they discovered evidence in that bar.” AMN announces a group of parliamentarians have asked general prosecutor Valeriu Gurbulea to resign and the Prosecutor's Office to start an inquest into the fabrication and unveiling evidence in a probe. On January 15, the GPO and the MIA announced that it someone had wanted to murder Iurie Rosca, but the killer employed for this purpose gave up. According to the GPO and the MIA, the murderer would have talked by phone to AMN leader Serafim Urecheanu, AMN deputy Ion Plesca, and former director of the Security and Information Service Valeriu Pasat, who was in Moscow. On January 16, AMN showed the journalists video images, which allegedly prove that the police placed objects incriminating evidence in the locale where the alleged murderer would have received a part of money and the gun.
