The councillor representing the Social-Political Movement “Ravnopravie”, Valeri Climenco, asked the Prosecutor’s Office to verify the legality of the construction of the Communist Party’s headquarters in the back of the Centru district office, on the place of a sports ground and nearby several dwelling blocks. The petition has been presented during the Chisinau Municipal Council’s sitting held on Wednesday, February 15, Info-Prim Neo reports.
As Climenco states, in the last period the blatant violation of the Government’s decision nr.978 of September 2, 2004 is attested. According to it a moratorium was called on the change in the street networks and in building edifices in the historical zone and green spaces in Chisinau. The construction of facilities on the lands close to the dwelling blocks has been banned via this decision.
The councillor asserts that communists began building their party’s headquarters ignoring the Government decision, depriving children and residents living nearby of the sports ground. He asked municipality’s prosecutor Vasile Pascaru to verify the legality of this construction, estimate the damages and determine the responsible persons. At the same time, Climenco sought to stop the construction until the enquiry is finished.
At the same sitting, councillor of “Moldova Noastra” Alliance Oleg Cernei asked the prosecutor to carry out investigations into certain cases, deemed by him as conflict of interest and abuse of authority, committed by former interim mayor Vasile Ursu. As Cernei states, on November 6, 2006, Ursu signed an order regarding the access road to Valeriu Canţer’s house on Alexandrescu Street, including the modification of a kindergarten’s boundaries. Cernei says that via this decision, signed by Ursu and countersigned by head of education, youth and sports Division, heads of education Division in Buiucani district and of abovementioned kindergarten, the kindergarten has been deprived of space.
Moreover, Cernei asked prosecutor to investigate Ursu’s abuse of power – permission to set out in the whole capital 40 booths named “Zoluşca” which filter and sell drinking water in non-returnable bottles”. As councillor says, the booths belong to “Fraţii Iacob” Ltd, who submitted a petition to Prime Minister, while the latter appealed to Ursu, who complied with his request, violating legislation regarding non-admission of booths’ placement in Chisinau. At the same time, Cernei requested to carry out investigation into another decision of Ursu, regarding the placement of 20 booths of clothes and accessories for make and mend.
The petitions have been filed to municipality’s prosecutor who attended CMC sitting.
