Today Interim Prosecutor General Dumitru Robu demanded the lifting of the immunity of MP Ilan Şor. This was announced at the plenary by the Speaker of the Parliament Zinaia Greceanii, who mentioned that immunity lifting was requested in order to detain, arrest, search and prosecute the former Orhei mayor, IPN reports.
Andrian Candu, Democratic Party deputy, said that according to the Parliament's Regulation, the Prosecutor General should initially read the request at the Parliament's plenary.
The Speaker mentioned that she "had read quickly" the request received from the Prosecutor General. It was decided that the matter be examined by the Legal, Committee for Appointments and Immunities. The Committee shall also decide whether the vote is secret or not.
