The observers of Promo-LEX signaled a case of organized transportation of voters in Dubăsari. There were also ascertained over 20 cases of unjustified presence of unauthorized persons inside the polling station or within 100 meters from the polling station both in Chisinau and outside it. There were identified attempts to corrupt voters in Chisinau and Balti, IPN reports.

Promo-LEX received almost 100 reports of incidents during 12 hours of the opening of polling stations. In the municipality of Chisinau, two persons at a distance of 50 meters from a polling station were distributing money to make electors vote for a particular candidate, as other voters informed. The two were taken to the police station for questioning. Another similar case was reported in Balti. As members of the electoral office of a polling station in Balti said, persons in a minibus parked nearby offered rewards to voters who presented the photo of the ballot with the “Having Voted” stamp.

Nine cases of campaigning or black PR to influence the voters’ choice within 100 meters and/or inside the polling station were identified. At a polling station in Chisinau’s Botanica district, a voter belittled particular political parties and campaigned. A woman in Balti, staying at the entrance to a polling station, called on the voters not to cast their ballots.

The observers detected seven problematic situations related to the realization of the right to elect. A person with disabilities could not enter a polling station in Buiucani district of Chisinau as there was no ramp there and therefore the person was allowed to vote outside, but was also offered a board so that the marked choice could not be seen. A person was prevented from voting because his identity card was damaged and the accompanying lose leaf was absent.
