The projects initiated by the Health Ministry will be implemented at a higher pace and will cover all the spheres of the health system, especially the primary medical assistance, the hospital sector and the pharmaceutical sector, Health Minister Andrei Usatyi told a news conference. He stated that until the end of the present Government’s term in office, all the projects implemented by the Ministry must be brought to an end, IPN reports.

Andrei Usatyi said that an important element of the changes made in the health system is the fundamentally modification of the employment and salary payment mechanism in health institutions. Another element of the reform is to implement information systems in all the spheres of the health system.

“This year, we will start with the primary medical assistance and will continue with the hospital sector so as to have an information system that will ensure correctness, swiftness and efficiency in providing medical services towards the end of 2015,” said the minister.

He also said that the common management of the medical institutions is an inevitable solution for the health system, which will enable to make important savings. The money will be used to increase the salaries, motivate the medical personnel, provide modern equipment, etc.

According to Andrei Usatyi, a number of mechanisms for combating corruption in the medical institutions are now being worked out. There will be formulated a document that will aim to significantly reduce the number of unofficial payments. If the patient needs other medical services than those stipulated in the common program, there will be official co-payments that will be collected into a special account of the medical institutions. This money will go to raise pays and to improve work conditions in medical institutions.
