The events dedicated to the Victory Day marked on May 9 in Chisinau will start at 10:00, at the Memorial Complex “Eternity” that is situated on Pan Halippa St. The program will begin with a meeting that will last for 45 minutes. Afterward, government officials, war veterans, representatives of embassies and international missions working in Moldova will lay flowers and wreaths at the eternal fire, the Grieving Mother monument and the commemorative plaques situated on the territory of the memorial complex, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Ministry of Defense. A moment’s silence will be observed in memory of the soldiers killed in battle, while National Army soldiers will fire a salute. An exhibition of military vehicles and infantry armament of the National Army will be opened in the square of the National Opera House at 11:50. The presidential orchestra will play military-patriotic songs, while military cooks will prepare a soldier’s porridge for about 400 persons. At 15:00, the military orchestras of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of the Interior and the Border Guard Service will play brass music in the central park, the park in Rascani district, “Dendrariu” Park in Buiucani district, and in “Valea Trandafirilor” Park in Botanica district. Events will also take place at the memorial complex “Serpeni Bridge Head”. Deputy Prime Minister Eugen Carpov, local public authorities and National Army servicemen will lay flowers at the eternal fire and the Monument to the Unknown Soldier. Festivities to celebrate the 76th anniversary of the victory over fascism will be also held at the military garrisons in Balti, Ungheni and Cahul, in concert with the local public administration.
