The article forms part of IPN’s series to present candidates for mayor of the municipality of Balti at the general local elections of November 5, 2023.
Marina Kravchenko is running for the mayoralty of Balti in the November 6 local election as an independent. She was born in 1975 and is an economist and manager by profession.
The candidate holds the post of deputy head on economic matters at the Orhei District Council.
In the parliamentary elections of 2021, she ran on the slate of the Shor Party, being the 27th on the list.
For the period between January 1, 2022 and December 31, 2022, the candidate declared 171,788 lei earnings from the Orhei District Council. She gained 148,000 lei in presents from relatives at different family events and received an allowance of 22,102 lei from the National House of Social Insurance. Her husband was offered €5,000 by relatives.
The candidate didn’t respond to IPN’s request to provide additional information about her priorities in the campaign prior to the mayoral election in Balti. In her first discussion with IPN’s reporter, she promised to provide the requested information, but later didn’t answer the phone and didn’t phone herself.
As it was decided by draw, Marina Kravchenko will be the tenth on the list of candidates on the ballot.
