The import of electricity on Friday exceeded 60% and the production of renewable energy doubled, said the Government’s crisis cell. More precisely, renewable energy plants and parks on Friday have produced twice as much as on Thursday, IPN reports.

Energocom informed that it reserved the commercial capacity at the border with Romania for imports, both through bilateral contracts and through purchased on the market.

At the same time, electricity consumption is estimated to be by 3% lower than on Thursday, January 16, when no emergency power supply agreements were used.

The distribution of energy sources looked like this:

60.82% of the electricity came from imports from Romania
27.76% from the production of JSC Termoelectrica
6.54% from renewable energy
4.27% from JSC CET-Nord
0.61% from NHE Costești

The peak consumption was reached between 05:00 p.m. and 08:00 p.m. at the ceiling of 964 MW.

On the left bank of the Nistru, over 80% of the electricity is produced by the Kuchurgan power plant. The rest comes from the technological flow. However, consumers in the Transnistrian region face scheduled power cuts of five hours each.

Since the beginning of the year, the Government has been insisting that all consumers should use electricity rationally and save during peak hours. "Reducing consumption during peak hours ensures the stability of the energy system and decreases consumer expenses," said the authorities.
