Problem of Parliament Building and Presidential Office to be raised in three months

The lawmakers will discuss the financing of the repair of the Parliament Building and the Presidential Office in three months, the head of the commission on economy, budget and finance Veaceslav Ionita has told Info-Prim Neo. “We took the decision to return to this question in Parliament in three months and will look for solutions to finance the repair of the buildings not from the state budget, but by issuing securities or other financial instruments. We will yet decide,” said Veaceslav Ionita. Deputy Minister of Construction and Regional Development Anatolie Zolotkov said that about 40% of the repair works have been executed. There was spent a sum of over 79 million lei. The money was allocated from the state budget for 2010. The same year it was estimated that about 243 million lei more is needed to complete the repair works. But the works were stopped as no more money has been allotted. “In order to continue the works, the calculations must be updated. We cannot compare the prices of 2010 with those of 2012,” he stated. The Parliament Building and the Presidential Office were destroyed during the April 2009 protests.
