The formation of a pro-European coalition in the Chisinau Municipal Council is possible and necessary. Such statements were made in the talk show “Fabrika” on Publika TV channel, IPN reports.

Political analyst Roman Mihaes said the people in Chisinau voted geopolitically and the results of this vote will influence the geopolitical orientation of the majority in the Council. “The formation of a majority in the Chisinau Municipal Council, by the councilors of the PL, PPEM, PLDM and PDM, is predictable. I think the three Communist councilors will also not join the anti-European camp. It will depend on the position that will be adopted at the central level. The leader of the PCRM could take revenge on the PSRM and the Our Party for the fact that these parties ‘stole’ its voters and removed it from the political arena. I consider the second round of voting will be won by Chirtoaca, who has an advantage over his opponent,” he stated.

The program’s permanent invitee, media analyst Cristian Tabara expressed his concern that the pro-European parties may delay the formation of a coalition. “The current state of affairs shows the formation of a European coalition is possible. I fear the situation of last winter could repeat and the negotiations would continue endlessly. This would be a disaster,” he stated.

Politician Valentin Krylov, former heavyweight of the Party of Socialists, advised Dorin Chirtoaca to review his messages during the next two weeks before the second round of voting. “Chirtoaca should be more attentive to such words as “Moscow’s hand” and “Putin’s project”. By such messages, Chirtoaca only determines the pro-Russian minority to mobilize and vote in favor of Zinaida Grecheanyi,” he said.
