Prime Minister visits actor Mihai Volontir at hospital

Prime Minister Vlad Filat and Russian Ambassador Farit Mukhametshin visited actor Mihai Volontir at the hospital. The officials talked to the actor's family, as well as with the doctors who treat him, the Moldovan Government said in a press release. The Prime Minister stated that he has an old understanding with Mihai Volontir regarding the shooting of a film, and expressed his hope that they will launch the project as soon as possible. “We are friends, we have known each other for a while, and I'm not only talking about Mihai Volontir the actor, but about Mihai Volontir the man, too. He is a special, exceptional, big-hearted person”, said Vlad Filat. Farit Mukhametshin noted, for his part, that the actor has many admirers and friends in the Russian Federation. “We want him to get well as soon as possible, and return to the great deeds he has in mind. We will be there for him, and offer help if needed”, said the Russian diplomat. Mihai Volontir has cancer, and has recently undergo tumour removal surgery. The actor begun his acting career 55 years ago, during which he has played over 120 roles.
