Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev will attend the Central European Free Trade Agreement meeting

Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev, as head of the Moldovan delegation, will attend the Meeting of Government Leaders regarding the simultaneous extension and introducing of amendments to Central European Free Trade Agreement (CEFTA), held in Bucharest on the 6th of April 2006, according to the communiqué of the governmental press service. The delegations of the South-Eastern Europe countires which are part of this agreement and of negotiating countries will attend the meeting; Moldova is among them too. As prime minister of a negotiating country, Tarlev will present a speech regarding CEFTA’s extension and modification. The meeting will end by adopting a Joint Declaration upon the key Principles that will lay at the background of negotiations. The agenda of Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev includes a meeting with the Romanian Prime Minister Mr. Calin Popescu-Tariceanu, according to the communiqué. Central European Free Trade Agreement came into force in 1993, and has as objectives the establishment of a free trade area through the liberalization of mutual commercial relations and elimination of tariff and non-tariff obstacles in commerce in the period of transition, notes Info-Prim Neo
