Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița congratulated Moldovan citizens on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Moldova's independence. "May the next 30 years be better. May we learn our lessons and not repeat our mistakes, may our efforts bear fruit and may we enjoy seeing each other fulfilled. Happy birthday, Moldova", the prime minister congratulated the citizens.

The prime minister said that Moldova is a beautiful country, just right for a rich, peaceful and joyful life. There is a handful of people who have worked and taken care of this land both in hard times and in times of peaceful development. A handful of people who are now all over the globe.

"The connection many of us have with the land lies only in our hearts and flows through the internet. I know that many now miss their country", the PM said. "They miss the Moldova full of villages teeming with children, the Moldova of bustling cities and economic activity, the Moldova of old forests and clean water wells". "We are working together towards a fair country, towards a country which respects honest work, a country where you work, invest and prosper", the PM said.

On August 27, 1991, the Moldovan Declaration of Independence was adopted and signed by 278 members of Parliament.
