The President’s Office denies the reports about the preparation of a plan of military action with regard to the Transnistrian region by the Moldovan authorities. The chief of staff to the President Adrian Băluțel said that this is serious and dangerous disinformation, designed to sow panic and mistrust, IPN reports.
"Chisinau remains firmly committed to the peaceful settlement of the conflict, without exception. The complete and unconditional withdrawal of the Russian troops that are illegally stationed on the sovereign territory of the Republic of Moldova is an essential step for resolving the conflict," reiterated Adrian Băluțel.
He added that it is manipulative and completely false to blame Chisinau or Kiev for the energy situation in the region. Adrian Băluțel reminded that there is a clear contract between Moldovagaz and Gazprom, which provides for the delivery of natural gas to the left bank of the Nistru, regardless of the transit route, specifying that the current problems stem from Gazprom's refusal to comply with its contractual obligations.
The chief of staff to the President noted that the Government is working intensively on solutions to support the citizens affected by the crisis.
The Bureau for Reintegration Policies said that there is no other reason for concern on the left bank of the Nistru besides the problems generated by Gazprom, which will lead to the deepening of the economic and social crisis in the region.
The Transnistrian region is urged "not to allow to be lured into this dangerous game". The looming energy crisis can affect the citizens on both banks of the Nistru River and everything that depends on those involved in the negotiation process must be done to manage it impeccably, said the Reintegration Policy Bureau.
