Moldova's president says two paintings stolen from Russia's Hermitage museum have been found, Info-Prim Neo has learnt from a communique issued by the Presidency.
President Vladimir Voronin told his Russian counterpart during a meeting Friday that the paintings were found three days ago and will soon be returned to the famed St. Petersburg museum.
The communique does not specify what paintings they were or how they Moldovan police found them.
Voronin met Russian President Dmitry Medvedev during a summit of the Commonwealth of Independent States being held on the outskirts of St. Petersburg.
Dmitry Medvedev has remarked the progress in the bilateral relationships lately, what, he thinks, creates gladdening prerequisites to identify opportunities to boost the cooperation between Moldova and Russia.
Vladimir Voronin and Dmitry Medvedev have also discussed aspects of the comercial-economic and humanitarian cooperation and the Transnistrian issue.
