President Maia Sandu said she will self-isolate after testing positive for Covid, which will prevent her from attending festivities dedicated to Moldova’s Independence Day on August 27, among other duties.
“I feel fine. I have no symptoms other than being a little more tired than usual, but in order not to put other people at risk, I will be in isolation for the next few days”, Sandu said in a video posted on Facebook.
“Please take care, everybody. Covid hasn’t gone anywhere. When you notice that you have symptoms, please get checked, get tested, talk to your doctor. I wish you all good health, take care of yourselves and thank you for your understanding”, she added.
Tonight, the Great National Assembly Square will host the first music show, in a series of three, dedicated to Independence Day.
Tomorrow, the presidents Gitanas Nauseda of Lithuania, Alar Karis of Estonia, and Edgars Rinkevics of Latvia will visit Chisinau for the celebration.
