President meets with ambassador of Japan in Chisinau

President Igor Dodon expressed his confidence that the opening of embassies in Chisinau and Tokyo will contribute to stronger bilateral cooperation. The position was stated in a meeting with Japan’s Ambassador in Chisinau Masanobu Yoshii on March 29, IPN reports.

“I thanked for the cooperation in different areas of common interest, especially in agriculture, through the technical assistance project 2KR, and welcomed the interest in increasing the imports of Moldovan wine to Japan,” stated Igor Dodon.

The same day, President Dodon had a meeting with the Ambassador of Switzerland to Moldova, with residence in Kyiv, Guillaume Scheurer. The interlocutors conferred on the agenda of the bilateral relations. Igor Dodon pleaded for extending the Moldovan-Swiss cooperation and for developing the existing commercial-economic potential.

The officials agreed to organize a visit by the President of Switzerland Johann Schneider-Ammann to Moldova this autumn.
