At the Mimi Castle in Bulboaca village, the preparations for the EPC Summit are at their height. The event of June 1 is expected to involve about 2,000 participants, about 700 of whom will be journalists. The hosts lay out the areas where the guests will be welcomed, the meeting halls and the press center, the halls where the officials will make statements for the press and will have meals, IPN reports.
“We are organizing a summit with 50 leaders, with 50 delegations. We are organizing such an event for the first time in the history of the Republic of Moldova. It is the largest foreign policy event. It is a very complex event. We are supported by the partners and have a good, determined and motivated team,” the presidential adviser on foreign policy and strategic communication Olga Roșca stated during a tour staged in Bulboaca.
The locals will have to obey particular limits during the event. “The citizens were informed. These people await the event with pride and enthusiasm. The road to the Airport and to Bulboaca will not be available, but there will be alternative routes. We are grateful to the people for their understanding and flexibility,” stated Olga Roșca.
About 700 requests for accreditation for the press were made, including by press from the U.S., Japan and Europeans states. “This is a large-scale event. There will be about 2,000 guests in total, including delegations and journalists,” said Olga Roșca.
“This summit anchors us in the big European family. It is very important as all these leaders come to Moldova to know us. For us, this is an opportunity to show to them who we are, that we are free people abiding by the European values, that we want to live in peace and stability. In a number of bilateral meetings, we will inform about our accomplishments, about the reforms we do so as to persuade them to hasten the opening of accession negotiations.”
The summit will take place at the Mimi Castle in Bulboaca village of Anenii Noi district, which is situated about 35 km from Chisinau.
