The third attempt by the Government to resent the assumption of responsibility for a number of laws before Parliament also failed. The Parliament sitting arranged for July 6 didn’t take place because the quorum was absent, IPN reports.

Fifty MPs of the 101 came to the assembly hall. As at the previous July 2 and 3 sittings that failed because the quorum was not present, MPs Ilan Șor and Ștefan Gațcan and the MPs of the PAS, PPPDA, Pro Moldova and the Shor Party were absent.

“Don’t you think that this situation is interesting, dear colleagues? It is very interesting. Our colleagues for the third time boycott the plenary sitting. I have written information that three of them, or actually two of them, will continue boycotting the sittings. We had the Parliament’s Standing Bureau and discussed the situation. Now that our colleagues didn’t show up, we don’t have a quorum,” said Parliament Speaker Zinaida Grechanyi.

She noted that the Standing Bureau will have its ordinary meeting on July 8 and will discuss the situation and see how long the boycott can last “given that particular colleagues simply do not want particular laws that are awaited by the whole society to take effect.”

In the morning of July 6, Prime Minister Ion Chicu said it is clear that this Parliament fully discredited itself before society and, according to him, the main goal is to fully dissolve this legislature using any possible legal way. Decisions will be taken depending on today’s behavior of the MPs.
