The national beach football champion Lexmax Stauceni will take part in the first inter-clubs competition “Euro Winners Cup” that will be held in the Italian town of San Benedetto on May 15-19.
The draw decided that the Moldovan team will play in group B, alongside CF Os Belenenses of Portugal, SC Montredon Bonneveine of France, and Beshiktash JK of Turkey. Only the winners will compete in the quarterfinals.
“Euro Winners Cup” will bring together 18 champions from European countries, plus two teams of the hosts.
The beach football in Moldova started to develop in 2008. Two years later, the first national squad made its debut in the World Companionship qualifiers.
