The Joint Analysis Paper of the EU Delegation to Moldova presented to the Government of the Republic of Moldova is very useful and will be a guide for the Government’s plan of action for the immediate period, Prime Minister Pavel Filip stated in the joint meeting of the Cabinet and ambassadors of the EU Member States and Switzerland in Chisinau, where the report was presented, IPN reports, quoting the Government’s press service.

“The submitted proposals will help us to define the reform agenda and to prioritize the actions. The Republic of Moldova will follow its European course and no other option can be discussed,” stated Pavel Filip.

He said the authorities of Moldova appreciate the support and assistance provided to the Republic of Moldova in the European integration process. He thanked for the openness expressed in the process of intensifying the bilateral dialogue between Moldova and the EU and between Moldova and the EU Member States, noting that the discussions will continue in Brussels next week, within the Moldova-EU Association Committee.

Pavel Filip stated that they are working on the elaboration of the Association Agenda for 2017-2019 and on the fulfillment of the conditions for signing the cooperation agreement with the International Monetary Fund.

For his part, the Head of the EU Delegation to Moldova Pirkka Tapiola spoke about the importance of continuing the strategic partnership between Moldova and the European Union and of setting common goals in doing reforms and ensuring the country’s development.

“The document presented today describes in detail the situation in Moldova in 13 areas, underlining the most important problems that must be overcome by common efforts and commitments. The analysis was carried out with the participation of all the ambassadors of the EU Member States in Chisinau. This exercise is intended to further the strategic partnership for the benefit of the citizens of the Republic of Moldova,” stated Pirkka Tapiola.

The Paper describes in detail the situation in the Republic of Moldova in thirteen sectors, emphasizing key development issues to be addressed. The Joint Analysis identifies key challenges for the development of the Republic of Moldova. It serves as a key reference for planning future EU assistance to the Republic of Moldova for the period 2017-2020.
