The Political Party “Our Party” (PPPN) on September 3 kicked off the camping for collecting signatures in support of its candidate Dumitru Chubashenko for the October 30 presidential elections, IPN reports.
The leader of the PPPN Renato Usatyi told a news conference given in front of the Central Post Office that they decided to become involved in the signature collection process together with Dumitru Chubashenko. Today the two will take part in signature collection in Chisinau and will then travel to Cahul, Comrat etc. This way they aim to reach all the people, regardless of their nationality.
Renato Usatyi said that according to his information, pressure is being exerted on employees of state institutions so that these sign for a particular candidate. Moreover, there is a plan for distributing stamped ballots to functionaries for these to put them in the ballot box on the election day. To prove that they did this, the civil servants must present the clean ballot that they will receive on the election day. Usatyi noted that he will launch a campaign within which the people will be urged to report such cases.
The party’s candidate for President Dumitru Chubashenko said the PPPN pledges to dissolve Parliament by presidential decree because they are convinced that a lot of people want the power to be changed.
Journalist Dumitru Chubashenko was nominated by “Our Party” as a candidate for the October 30 presidential elections on August 31. He is not a member of the party.
