Members of "Our Party" Political Party (PPPN) accuse the Socialist Party of electoral fraud in the village of Terebna, Edinet district, in the second round of local elections, IPN reports.

Corneliu Moraru, a PPPN candidate who ran for mayor of Terebna, but was defeated in the second round by his opponent, Valentin Ţîțanu, representing the PSRM, said today at a press conference that on the election day he observed several election fraud attempts by organizing the transportation of voters to the polling stations.

Also, Corneliu Moraru says that he noticed that the medical office situated in the vicinity of the polling station and headed by his opponent’s counselor, was open all day long on Sunday, the day of the elections. According to him, several people left the polling station, paid a visit to the medical office and went their way. The PPPN candidate also maintains that, in the evening, his opponent was staying for a while near the polling station, which is forbidden.

Elena Grițco, a PPPN member, mentioned that the minutes of the election results in the village of Terebna were written with two pens, the ink of one of them disappearing upon heating. This was discovered by the PPPN candidate who received the original minutes after the elections and wanted to make a Xerox copy, and as a result the copy indicated other data than the minutes.

PPPN has lodged complaints with the CEC, the General Prosecutor's Office, the Edineț Prosecutor's Office, the Edineț Police Inspectorate and the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Elena Grițco urged the candidates from the second round in other settlements to check the minutes.

Asked by IPN, PSRM press officer Irina Astahova has denied PPPN's allegations, claiming that it was "just their opinion."
