The mayors of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” plead for local self-government and authentic decentralization. In a public event, Viorel Furdui, CALM executive director, said decentralization and local self-government are assumed, not only declared priorities for PPPDA. According to him, his over 20 years’ experience of work in the local public administration shows that decentralization and local self-government are important for parties if they want to have an important foundation at the local level and want the mayors to be devoted to the ideology, IPN reports.

Viorel Furdui noted that they appreciate the done work, the cooperation with the mayors of PPPDA, the initiatives concerning the local public administration that were formulate by the PPPDA MPs together with mayors. The PPPDA was among the first parties that signed the commitment for decentralization and local self-government to be a priory.

Mayor of Mateuți village of Rezina district Angela Ursachi said the local public authorities need a change or Moldova risk remaining without villages. Persons able to work, persons with critical thinking and families with children leave the villages and the country remains without a future. PPPDA has the capacity to fulfill the promises and to bring Moldova back on the path of wellbeing.

Mayor of Căușeni town Anatolie Donțu said many of the good things done in Căușeni are due to PPPDA and the appropriate guidance of this team. “The party and its legislative proposals helped my town to flourish, to develop, to keep the inhabitants at home,” he stated.

PPPDA MP Inga Grigoriu, who runs for MP again, said the party’s MPs in the future legislative body will promote bills to increase local budgets and to stimulate regional development, while her mate Dinu Plîngău assured that the team prepared good bills and the party’s MPs will struggle for each leu that is to go to villages, for each road or street lighting system as the people in Moldova deserve better living conditions.

The event involved PPPDA leader Andrei Năstase, members Igor Munteanu, Kiril Moţpan, Stela Macari, Liviu Vovc and a number of mayors representing the party.
