Moldova’s Post Office on March 12 put into circulation a postcard with a fixed stamp titled “Nicolae Dabija (1948 – 2021), writer, literary historian and politician. In memoriam”. Nicolae Dabija died on March 12, 2021, IPN reports.
The postcard contains a space for writing the sender and receiver. It costs 10 lei and will be available in 1,000 copies.
Nicolae Dabija was a writer, publicist, literary historian, a member of honor of the Romanian Academy, a corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, the editor-in-chief of the weekly newspaper “Literatura și Arta” and a politician.
In the 1990s, Nicolae Dabija played a key role in the national renaissance efforts in Moldova by supporting the idea of restoration of the Latin scrip and the declaring of Romanian the official language in the Moldovan Soviet Socialist Republic.
