Presidents Vladimir Putin and Igor Dodon will most probably agree populist statements that would help the Moldovan Head of State to gain more votes in the next parliamentary elections, political analyst Oazu Nantoi stated in an interview for Radio Free Europe, quoted by IPN.

“If we look more attentively at the composition of the delegation, we get the impression that these is a group of agents of influence of Russia, led by Igor Dodon, Missis Zinaida Grechenyi, who knows personally Mister Putin, Missis Irina Vlah, who was placed in the post of Bashkan by the absolutely brutal intervention of the Russian Federation, and people who are closest to Mister Dodon. Surely Moldova’s Ambassador, owing to the post held, is obliged to take part in such meetings. I have a skeptical view as regards the consequences of this visit,” stated Oazu Nantoi.

As to the fact that the delegation that accompanies Igor Dodon to Moscow includes no representative of the Government, Oazu Nantoi said it’s no use taking part in this mini show and photo session that will be presented to us as of representatives of the executive.

Asked if this visit could help solve the problem of exports, the analyst said a decision should be taken by President Putin as Igor Dodon is not regarded a politician of the same level by his Russian counterpart. “Yes, Russia’s policies in relation to the Republic of Moldova are voluntary and arbitrary and the ban could be lifted following a decision by Mister Putin. Probably, Mister Putin and Mister Dodon will agree some populist statements that would help Mister Dodon to win more votes in the parliamentary elections. But we are yet to reach that moment. Nothing more serious will happen,” stated Oazu Nantoi.

According to him, during 25 years the governments of Moldova haven’t managed to build a diversified, viable and competitive national economy that would not depend on the Russian Federation.
