Popular painkiller missing from drugstore shelves

Citramon, a popular and inexpensive over-the-counter painkiller and anti-fever agent, cannot be found at drugstores in Moldova lately. Ludmila Bumacov, vice director of the Medicines Agency, has told Info-Prim Neo that there are supplies of the drug in the country, but they are yet to undergo routine quality procedures. As many as 612,000 packs of Citramon tablets were imported on August 23 from Russia, and now they undergo quality testing that normally takes 40 days. Next week, most likely on Monday afternoon, Citramon tablets will again be available at drugstores.
