Voting ends in less than three hours. Polling stations will be closed and the vote count will start. The voter turnout at 6pm was over 39%, which means the presidential elections are valid. More than 106,000 people votes at the out-of-country polling stations, IPN quoted CEC president Dorin Cimil as saying in a press briefing.

Dorin Cimil noted that the 16 polling stations in the U.S. and Canada were opened. The polling stations in Baku, where 26 persons voted, and in Russia’s Surgut were closed. Crowdedness was reported at polls in Canada, Israel or Belgium.

The CEC president said the voters were most active at polls in France and the UK. About 14,000 Transnistrian voters marked their ballots by now.

The voter turnout is the highest in the districts of Rezina and Florești. The turnout is the lowest in Bălți and Ștefan- Vodă. The persons aged between 56 and 70 are the most active ones. The most passive ones are the voters younger than 25.

Polls close at 9pm. The electoral commission can decided to extend the voting process by at most two hours to enable the voters who stay in a line to vote.
