Over 50,000 Moldovan citizens abroad marked their choice in the runoff vote. The highest turnout was reported at the polling stations in Turkey, Russia and Italy. The most active are the female voters, who exercised their right to vote in a proportion of about 54%, which is over 27,000 women, IPN reports.
Also, over 46% of the men or over 23,000 cast their ballots so far.
Most voters are in the 36-45 age bracket – over 27%, followed by voters in the 46-55 age category – 22% and those in the 26-35 age category – 19%.
Less active are the elderly people in the 76+ age category, where up to 0.50% voted, followed by those in the 66-75 age category – 5%, 56-65 years old – 15% and young people aged 18 – 25 – 9%.
Voters can mark their ballots by 09:00 p.m. However, the electoral bureau can decide to extend the voting deadline by two hours in order to allow electors standing in line at the polling station to vote.
