The politicians react their way to the musical parodies about them launched recently, expressing usually their dissatisfaction. Society, on the contrary, welcomes and encourages this new method of expressing and conveying political messages. Such conclusions were formulated in the public debate “Our alliance is not for sale… People’s creation as an expression of political culture in a period of political crisis” that was staged by IPN News Agency.

“The political class is able to hear the messages conveyed by the musical parodies about it and reacts, but in its style. After we launched the three musical parodies recently, about Mihai Ghimpu, Vlad Filat and Vladimir Plahotniuc, all the parties phones us and asked us what was it with this idea,” said the program director of Radio Plai Vitalie Calugareanu.

He also said that the politicians react when their interests are affected. “I’m a journalist and we aim to create a humoristic platform in such a style. Thus, in a very short period of time, certain politicians will become interested in what our radio station does. I will not wonder if we start to encounter problems one day,” stated Vitalie Calugareanu.

On the other hand, after the musical parodies started to be broadcast, Radio Plai received a number of phone calls from people, who encouraged the creation of such parodies, said the program director.

The public debate “Our alliance is not for sale… People’s creation as an expression of political culture in a period of political crisis” is the 16th of the series “Development of political culture by public debates”. The project is supported by Hanns Siedel Foundation.
