By voting in another Government than the Leanca Government, the politicians from Chisinau caused two essential ruptures – one with the voters and another one with the Europeans, Dan Dungaciu, director of the Institute of Political Science of the Romanian Academy, said in the program “Place for dialogue” on Radio Moldova station, IPN reports.

According to Dungaciu, these two ruptures are more dangerous for Moldova than the split of society. “Leanca was very popular. If the Leanca Governemtn had been voted in with the help of the Communists, things wouldn’t have been so serious. When the anger goes away, Leanca, as an ordinary MP, will not enjoy the same support among the Europeans as when he was Premier, and Moldova will be thus affected. If Iurie Leanca launches a personal political project, he will have to assume responsibility for the mistakes made in the case of the Chisinau airport and Banca de Economii,” he stated.

Pro-rector of the Free International University of Moldova, former Liberal-Reformist MP Ana Gutu said Iurie Leanca should start a personal political project. “Iurie Leanca has political capital. If he had headed the PLDM’s list of candidates for the parliamentary elections of last autumn, the party would have gained more votes. I think Leanca will be followed by many people and a party headed by him will become the third political force that is so needed in our country,” she said.

Liberal-Democratic MP Valeriu Ghiletski expressed his regret at the fact that the Leanca Government didn’t gain the number of votes needed to be invested, but noted that the PLDM had no other way out. “I agree that a minority government will go slower, as Iurie Leanca said. But we should not forget about the configuration of the current legislature, which was decided by the people,” he stated.
