The Journalists Union from Moldova and the European Action Movement (MAE) will protest in Chisinau against what MAE styles as “poor governing”, on Sunday, November 9. MAE calls on national, pro-European political forces, the civil society, the people of god faith to join the protests in the National Opera Square, Info-Prim Neo reports.
MAE president Anatol Petrencu has told a news conference at the Info-Prim Neo News Agency that “in its 8th year in power, the Communists Party has brought Moldova to a deep social-political crisis”. Wrapping up a recent trip to the country's north, Anatol Petrencu has found that the farmers cannot enjoy the rich harvest of this year because they don't have whom to sell the produce to. “Why does this state exist for, if it is not capable of organizing the usage of the output. We cannot require the peasants cultivating orchards also to deal with sales, processing and pay taxes, after all,” the MAE stated.
“Most of the population are condemned to starvation and total poverty,”reads an appeal issued by the MAE. “The Voronin regime has culled the independence of the judiciary and of the autonomy of local public administration, gravely violates the principles of the state of law,” Petrencu said.
MAE considers that “in its relation with the Western partners, with the E.U., the U.S.A., the international financial bodies, Moldova promotes a dual policy.” “The pro-European rhetorics actually disguises the pro-Russian essence of official Chisinau's domestic and foreign policies,” is the party's appreciation given to the rulers' European integration efforts.
The protests to be organized jointly with the Journalists Union will start Sunday at 11 a.m.
