While some of the political parties filed the documents for being registered as election runners and are waiting for the CEC’s decision, others are looking for persons who would bring value added to their team in the elections of July 11. The representatives of the PPPDA said they bank on their team from Parliament in elections, while those of the Party of Change noted that even if their party is new, they will run in elections so as to offer an alternative to the citizens, IPN reports.

If the PAS is registered as an election contender, it will be the fifth on the ballot. The representatives of the PAS said that in this campaign they will not tackle the geopolitical course and will center on pressing problems faced by the people.

“We will campaign not for the East or the West. The Republic of Moldova has other problems now, such as poverty, the pandemic, the critical economic situation and migration. We do not want to take the discussion to the West or the East. For us, it is important to come with a list of people who will be able to solve the problems we mentioned above,” PAS secretary general Andrei Spînu stated in the talk show “Black Box” on TV8 channel.

The electoral bloc “Renato Usatîi” is preliminarily under No. 3 on the ballot. The representatives of this political entity said they decided to form an electoral bloc so as not to lose votes in the upcoming elections.

“We tried to protect ourselves from clone parties. We have the situation of 2014 when the regime created a clone of the PCRM that was close to entering Parliament. For us, it is now important that the clone parties do not take any votes from us,” said the bloc’s representative Ilian Cașu.

The PPPDA is preparing to submit the required documents to the CEC and intends to publish its electoral list this week.

“What we want to offer to the voters is a team that worked in Parliament and fulfilled its promises there. The team from Parliament is our major trump card. The list also includes other party members and the results of each local organization in the presidential elections will be taken into account,” said PPPDA secretary general Ion Terguță.

The Party of Change that was officially launched in March said it will run in the July 11 elections and is now compiling its list that will be representative.

“Even if we are a young party, we will take care that our representatives cover all the areas and we will have territorial representation. The team will decide who will top the list. I do not have such an ambition,” stated Ștefan Gligor, the leader of the Party of Change.

Currently, six political entities that filed the documents for being registered as election contenders are waiting for the CEC to take a decision as to the registration within seven days of the submission of files.
