Representatives of the Political Group of the European People’s Party (EPP) in EuroNest came together for the second meeting in Chisinau on October 13. The political parties from five partner countries affiliated to the EPP discussed the achieved progress, their commitment to implementing the European values and the main priorities for the immediate period. Moldova was represented at the meeting by members of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM), Info-Prim Neo reports. Prime Minister, Vlad Filat, the leader of the PLDM, said that the second meeting of the Political Group of the EPP represents in fact a reunion of the family of the European People’s Party. “I’m sure that this new dialogue method will bring a real value added to the cooperation with the European People’s Party inclusive, in our relations with the European Union and at party level, with the European Christian-Democratic family,” he stated. Vlad Filat also said that the top short-term priorities for Moldova in its relations with the European Union comprise completing the negotiations on the Association Agreement, including on the provisions of the Agreement on the Creation of a Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area, and the second phase of the Visa Liberalization Plan by the 2013 Eastern Partnership Summit of Vilnius. The chairman of the EPP Group in EuroNest Jacek Saryusz-Wolski said that the meeting of the Eastern partnership countries is held in an informal and friendly atmosphere within which they have to set the priorities for the immediate period. He stressed that these meetings in multilateral format offer the possibility of exchanging experience between states, dealing with the new dynamics and problems and setting the priorities for the future. The European People's Party is the largest and most influential European-level political party of the centre-right, which currently includes 73 member-parties from 40 countries, 16 EU and seven non-EU heads of state and government from the EU and seven non-EU member states.
