Police reacts to incident involving Shelin

The Chisinau Police Commissariat has reacted to Thursday's incident, when Social-Democrat leader Victor Shelin violated an interdiction and forced his way into Parliament, and will undertake all the actions required by law, stated Parliament Speaker Marian Lupu. Lupu made the announcement after Communist MP Anatoli Zagorodnyi requested the Prosecutor General to appear before Parliament and provide a legal explanation of the incident. “The Security Service mishandled the Communist MPs”, complained Zagorodnyi. On Thursday, Shelin forced his way into the Republic Palace where Parliament sits. Security attempted to prevent Shelin from entering, but a group of Communist MPs intervened to overcome the resistance. Shelin was banned from Parliament after he spoke to the public from a platform displaying the Parliament's insignia, which Speaker Lupu considered to be a violation.
