With camouflaged cars equipped with speed measuring and other devices, the police identified a number of violations of traffic rules committed by drivers working on minibus routes in Chisinau. According to the National Patrolling Inspectorate, during three hours, dozens of minibus drivers were caught speeding, taking and leaving passengers directly on crosswalks or on the second lane of the street, stopping in banned places and performing dangerous maneuvers, IPN reports.

About 50 drivers exceeded the legal limit, driving at a speed of 70-75 km/h at a time when the limit is 50 km/h. All the violations were recorded and will be sent to the Common Road Traffic Monitoring Center where the videos and pictures will be processed. Based on this evidence, the offenders will be identified and penalized.

Contacted by IPN, press officer of the National Patrolling Inspectorate Uliana Catan said the police received yet no order from the mayor, annulling a number of minibus routes. When the order arrives, the drivers of the annulled routes will be fined 400 to 1,000 lei if they go on the routes.
